35% of Georgians wants to go to France for vacation,
but majority (34%) of those, who manage to go to abroad
for vacation, goes to Turkey.

A survey was conducted in the region and Russia and information was gathered about which countries are most desirable vacation/tourist destinations for the population. In each country 1200 respondents participated in the study.

As it turned out, most of Azerbaijanis - 23% would like to visit Turkey for vacation/tourist purposes, while 20% would like to visit Arab-Islamic countries.

Most of Armenians would like to go on a trip to France (25%) or Russia (20%). Majority of Russians named France (22%) and Germany (19%) as desirable destinations – for spending vacation or other travelling purposes.

Among surveyed countries, Armenians would like to visit Georgia on a vacation or for tourists purposes the most (8%).

Most of Georgians (35%) say that they would spend holidays travelling to France, 20% would go to Germany and 17% would like to visit other European countries.

“IPM Research” also got interested in which foreign countries do visit Georgians when they’re on vacation. 2000 respondents participated in the survey. They named the countries where they spent summer this year.

As it turned out, 8,6% of the respondents spent this summer holidays/vacation abroad, while 91,4% hasn’t left the country.

It was interesting to discuss the results of the survey with regard to data about where Georgians would like to go for vacation/travel.

Despite France being the most desirable vacation destination among Georgians, in reality among the countries the respondents visited Turkey holds the leading position. 34% of the respondents spent summer in Turkey, while only 4% vacationed in Paris.

Apparently, vacationing and traveling to Germany is more affordable for Georgians. It was the second country by the frequency of visits (14%), as well as among desirable travelling destinations.

The third most popular country among Georgian travelers is also European country - 12% of Georgians vacationed in Italy in this Summer.
